It was translated from the Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greeklanguages by a committee.
It was originally released in six volumes from 1950 to1960. The originals contained marginal references and footnotes. The revised1961 edition had neither. This 1984 edition has been expanded to includecomplete updating and revision of the marginal (cross) references of theoriginal edition.
It was released by the committee to the Watch Tower Bibleand Tract Society of Pennsylvania for printing, translation into otherlanguages, and distribution. The translators felt responsible to God totransmit His thoughts and declarations as accurately as possible.
