Ptolemais1, daughter of Ptolemy I and Eurydice2, engaged to Demetrius Poliorcetes3 c. 2994, and married5 him (as king of Macedon) as his fifth known wife in Miletus6 in 287/67, by whom she had one known child, Demetrius the Fair8, date of death unknown.

[4] The date of the engagement is determined circumstantially. It occurred in a brief period of rapprochement between Ptolemy and Demetrius that was brokered by Seleucus I, who shortly thereafter fell out with both parties. Ý

[7] The date of the marriage is determined circumstantially. It occurred shortly after Demetrius was expelled as king of Macedon by Pyrrhus and Lysimachus, who divided it between them. Since the Macedonian kinglist given by Porphyry in Eusebius, Chronicorum (ed. Schoene) 241, gives Lysimachus 5 years 6 months, the expulsion of Demetrius may be dated by dead reckoning back from the assassination of Seleucus I to July 287. Ý
